If by reading something again, or hearing someone else explain a verse, doesn't open your eyes now and then, make you see something different, view it a different way, then you are close minded, and thus are following yourself, your own beliefs, and it doesn't matter if they are right or wrong.
Well of course... are you saying that there is 2 sides to every story? Of course I tend to be elightened in different ways by scripture. Here are a couple of examples: When the Bible teaches to forgive each other.. that is pretty cut and dry... we must do that in order to be obedient to Gods word. When the Bible say repent for the Kindom of Heaven is near... we must repent... see what I am saying?When the Bible teaches Love the Lord thy God with all you heart, mind, and soul... that is how God requres us to love him.

Forgive each other....cut and dry...except you mention that capital punishment is ok because it is the rules of man. Shouldn't we just forgive them? I mean ok we're going to punish you...no I'm sorry...oh ok, we forgive you, go on.

Yes there are some things that are crystal clear, or should be. However, if everything was like that, there would be no need for 500 different preachers or denominations. Shoot, we'll just have one preacher who comes on tv and tells us all how the Bible is....scary isn't it.
You know what you get then? A church-controlled state. The great George Bush reads his Bible, tells us what he thinks, and since he's the ruler, its gospel.
Yes you could but by law there would be consequences to your actions... but after that you can pray for forgiveness for beating me up and God will forgive you... yes. YOu do not have to support everything you hear or what the President says. Some things are out of our control... but We will not e judged based upon what George does either... it is the decisions we make.
